Buying Reclaimed wood comes with two significant benefits. Firstly, these hardwoods are durable “life and family proof”! Secondly, they are environmentally safe – something for generations to come as well as today.

The inclusions and “life” marks that you find on our wood are an inherent part of who we are and what we want our product to look like. We do not intend an MDF or Plantation timber finish. Our furniture is hand crafted and, although sanding smooth is an easy thing to do, we will not remove the historic character of these woods. Therefore the marks, indentations, blocking and filling are all part of the character of this product.

The movement of wood is as natural as its’ knots. Within the first twelve months environmental changes can affect these woods. Any movement requiring restoration will be dealt with by our skilled restorers in your own home.

Use only natural wax and not synthetic sprays. Unfinished wood means exactly that and should be wiped with a damp cloth to remove any sawdust. If you want to seal it tung oil, Danish oil, teak oil or beeswax are recommended for minimum colour change.
