To mark International Women’s Day, we thought it would be good to celebrate the brilliant women of Raft...

At Raft our success depends on happy, motivated teams, both here in the UK and in Indonesia, where we are committed to maintaining an equally high working standard. And of course, the women among us are critical to our success.

Here are three brilliant women to explain in their own words what it means to work for Raft...

Tamara Frye, Interior Designer

Tamara joined Raft in 2011 and took over Raft’s in-house interior design service in 2016. With her flair and expert eye for accents, she has doubled the interior design department and it continues to go from strength-to-strength.

If it’s a harmonious and comfortable environment you are looking for, Tamara has a particular knack for creating harmonious, comfortable environments. She says:

“I joined Raft as part of an exciting new venture into the world of interiors. The brand has fantastic values and amazing-quality products, which certainly makes the job a lot easier.

It’s been an exciting journey to be a part of and it only continues to get better.”

Siobhan Quinn, Head Buyer

Siobhan joined Raft back in 2009 and immediately began to refine the look and feel of the Raft range. She is responsible for bringing the brand to life, taking her ideas from the drawing board all the way through to the shop floor. Siobhan has an eye for detail and an uncanny ability to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to interior trends.

"Raft has a unique style you don’t see elsewhere on the high street. You know each piece has been carefully curated to ensure it epitomises what our brand is about. Each piece has a story to it and will have been on its own journey. Raftis a sustainable brand that focuses on quality pieces rather than regular turnover.

Raft provides a supportive space to be creative and audacious and that’s why we have pieces customers keep for life.”

Elena Horton, Assistant Manager

Elena joined Raft in 2016. She and her colleagues are the face of the company on the shop floor, helping customers to find the products that are right for them. It’s thanks to Elena and her teams that Raft customers tend to come back again and again. Elena says:

“Being a part of Raft is like being a part of a huge family. Everyone knows everyone and everyone has the support of others regardless of gender. As a company, Raft supports ambition and loyalty and that goes a long way in the smooth running of the company,”

At Raft we're committed to maintaining high ethical standards in everything from staff welfare to the sourcing of our materials. Read more about the ethos of our founders Mick and Heinze here.
