The founders of Raft realised some time ago that there was a real lack of high quality and craftsmanship available at an affordable price. Wanting to get away from the flat packed, throw-away culture of today, Raft began to focus on the idea of challenging modern furniture manufacturing techniques, moving away from clichés and stereotypes of what it means to be eco, to produce a chic and sophisticated furniture design. It is Raft's commitment to this concept that has led to its success.
We believe a business is like a family in its need for mutual loyalty. This attitude means that we work with a highly dedicated team. From the interns, through to the sales team, to the designers, all ideas are considered and the best are taken on board. Our team is as diverse as our products and everyone’s input is vital to the development of Raft. From start to finish everything we do is in-house, from the design of the furniture, through to the manufacture by our skilled artisans, the delivery team who assemble your furniture on site and finally to the knowledgeable sales and customer services team. We are all a part of Raft and we believe this, teamed with our commitment to quality, is what inspires such loyalty from our customers.
More than a decade on from the roots of the business, we at Raft are still committed to this concept. The marks and blockings that you see in our teak furniture are mortise and tenon joints that are blocked in rather than wastefully cut out. The knots, filling and tool marks left by our artisans are testament to the originality and handmade nature of reclaimed teak. We also hand make all our sofas in London and Manchester to the highest specifications. Our fabrics are predominantly produced in Belgium and Italian weaving sheds and the leather we use is hand selected from the best natural hides produced in European tanneries.
We have achieved so much in the last 17 years and this is only the beginning. We will continue to innovate and strive for high ethical and ecological standards and we set a trend for others to follow.
Following the success of our company-owned stores, we opened our first franchise in 2011, which also proved a success. We have since opened franchises around the country and we will be opening 2 more soon.
We are now seeking to appoint five further, capable, like-minded business people, partners, friends and individuals who are strong team players and want to be part of something big. They will need to work well with others whilst also being self-motivated. You must be willing to learn and happy to dedicate time.
You will not need any direct experience in our industry but you will need to show us that you have the skill, commitment and determination to get on with people at all levels and the passion to successfully run a business such as ours.
'Buying a RAFT franchise was a very good decision for us. It’s a great lifestyle choice with high earnings potential. They are really good people to deal with, the training is very comprehensive and the backup and support from every member of the RAFT team has been superb from day one. They have all been involved in helping to make our franchise successful and this has been altogether a great experience!'
